About Chalk

Chalk Peckham
To All, We are a group of students studying Drawing at Camberwell College of Arts. On Thursday 24th April, 11 am - 4pm, 11 of us will be conducting a live art project outside Peckham Library. The project will take place on the paved area surrounding the library, where we will recreate on a large scale, in chalk, Van Gogh's ‘The Starry Night’. Our collective aim is to create a striking work of art in a public and urban environment that the residents of the area can interact with. The location was chosen as a link between the objects of creative and cultural significance contained within the library and the world outside it. What’s more it is an effort to show our appreciation and respect for Peckham, an area where, as Camberwell students, much of our vital learning time is spent. Anyone and everyone are welcome to come and join in.
